Life Is Beautiful

I hate to say this about myself, but I like to fight. Nothing satisfies that sinful urge to bicker like a good debate over something really volitile like abortion or the election, or spanking children, or home schooling or vegetarianism, or Christmas. Christmas? I have been showing my claws a little lately. And much like a cat that can't decide if they are being stroked the right or wrong way, those talons have been out and retracted so much I just want to let loose. In the last 5 years I have done a complete and total 180. I accepted Chirst as my Lord in 2005 and then my whole world got blasted into a million pieces and slung out into the stratosphere where I am now using The Guidebook to find each piece and put it where God intended it to be. This is a process that has caused much a raised eyebrow to the people that have known me all this time - and before. Where do you start? If you didn't grow up in any particular denomination (or are stepping away from that teaching) you may not know how to pick a church. One way is to open the yellow pages. Run your finger down the appropriate column with your eyes closed and then stop. There you go! Call them up and see when to show up come Sunday morning. Done. Or you could take a more scientific approach. Follow these suggestions for finding a local church to plug in to. 1. Location, location, location. How far do you want to drive every Sunday, Wednesday and any other day there is a function or Bible study? Look around and pin point ones of interest in your area. 2. Theology. What does this church teach? What do they believe? Most have websites anymore that you can check out. Look for a link such as, "About Us" or "What We Believe". You want a church that teaches from The Bible and believes in one fundamental thing – salvation by grace through faith in Jesus ...

Well, things in my life are settling into a super busy crazy cycle. I have taken on a business that I'm working from home in addition to my full time job and life is good! I started recycling our plastics, paper, and cans at home and at work. I have replaced as much as I can in our house with environmentally responsible and safer alternatives. Ladies and gentlemen, I have a new crusade. I have started to learn about indoor air polution and the carcinogens that the major manufacturers of detergents put in thier products. It's really frightening to think about the cancer rate 100 years ago was 1/60 and now it's 1/3. What happened? Aren't we better educated now and have better technology? Well, what happened is we got lazy. In our best efforts to make things "better" we got a lap full of "worse". We take a pill for every ailment and get side effects from it so that we need more pills.
